Abstract:
The objectives of this research are to (1) explore the impact of strategic corporate governance on achieving organizational goals, (2) identify the key elements of effective corporate governance practices, and (3) assess the relationship between corporate governance and organizational performance. A survey research design was chosen to collect comprehensive data from a large sample. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 370 respondents was selected to ensure representativeness. The study was conducted in the financial services sector in Lagos, Nigeria, known for its corporate governance challenges. The reliability coefficient score of the survey was 0.88. The findings revealed that effective corporate governance significantly enhances organizational performance by promoting transparency, ensuring accountability, and fostering ethical business practices. Recommendations include developing robust corporate governance frameworks, regularly reviewing governance practices, and promoting a culture of accountability and transparency within organizations.
